What a handsome boy!

Tucker is handsome energetic Black/Tan longhair dachshund that is about 2 years old. Tucker is a friendly boy good with adults and children. Since Tucker is so barky when excited plus food driven we Do Not recommend that he be with young children. He tends to bark at strangers and needs time to trust new humans. Tucker will need time to adjust to new surroundings. Being a barkier dachshund shared walls - apartments, condo, or townhouse is probably not a good idea. While a fenced yard is not mandatory Tucker really enjoys running and exploring or chasing a canine buddy. If you do not have a fenced yard you do need to be committed to long daily walks. Tucker is good with other laid back small dogs - 30 pounds or less ... No Big dogs or cats! We do think Tucker might also enjoy being an only dog ...he Loves getting ALL the attention. Tucker is doing well with house training ... set up a routine and be consistent. It does tend to mark in new surroundings so he wears a belly band until we can trust him. He is crate trained. At night Tucker sleeps in the Big Bed but you might want to start him out in a crate or dog bed until he is confortable in his new surroundings.

Tucker is a healthy neutered male that is up to date on vaccines - Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella. His fecal and HW test were negative for parasites. Tucker also had a dental cleaning with 0 extractions.
