What a friendly boy!

Scout is a 4 year old cream smooth dachshund. He came to rescue as an owner surrender because his owner was no longer able to care for him. Scout loves ALL humans ... old - young - male or female. Scout would do best however in an adult only or adults with older children - 10 or older because he lacks any experience with younger children. Scout gets along with other dogs but prefers humans. He doesn't interact much with his canine buddies. Scout does get very excited and interacts with humans even strangers. Scout LOVES LOVES LOVES being outdoors or going for walks so a fenced yard is a must. He is great on a leash and weather permitting goes on multiple walks daily. Scout is crate trained but we feel he would probably do well in a gated area when gone. Scout is doing well with housetraining ... he does use a pee pad too.

Scout is neutered and up to date on vaccines - Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella. His fecal and HW test were negative for parasites. He also had a dental cleaning with 0 extractions. Scout is overweight and needs to loose at least 5 pounds. Scout's forever family needs to continue to help him loose weight by maintaining a healthy diet with lots of exercise.
