Special Needs
Molly was born with a liver shunt which she had surgically repaired at Veterinary Specialty Center in Bannockburn, Illinois in December. Molly has been doing great since her surgery but has been on a special diet - low protein and 3 medications. She has been back to VSC multiple times for rechecks and each time she is doing phenomenal. Her present goal is to taper off all medications. She is only taking 2 meds ... Lactulose and Keppra now. She is taking the Lactulose only once a day and Kepra. Starting in May she will only be on the Kepra until her final recheck in June. Molly is on track to being able to live a long and healthy life medication free but more than likely she will have to remain on a low protein diet for life. She eats Dr. Harvey's Raw Vibrance w/ground turkey. We would like to help Molly find her Forever Family sooner rather than later however she will need to go back to Veterinary Speciality Center for her 6 month final recheck which her new adopters can do or allow Midwest Dachshund Rescue to take her.

My Story

Molly says "I want to be where the people are!"

Yup, that's Molly she's never met a stranger and is looking for an active family that will take her for a pup cup, walks, on vaccations, and everywhere in between, Molly is a friendly - outgoing girl that wants to be in on the action. Molly is an energetic pup that needs an active home and a small active young canine buddy to play and interact with.

Molly has 4 modes:

PLAY!  EAT! ... she LOVES food  SNUGGLE!  SLEEP! in the Big Bed of course.

Molly's Forever Family must be comitted to LOVING her and making her and active member of their family but also meeting what ever medical needs she may have in the future.

Spread the word about this lovable doxie!
