McGhee is a 4 year old chocolate & tan standard size loving boy.  He loves to sit with his foster parents and even relax under a blanket from time to time.  In typical dachshund fashion, he will alert you of any unusual noises or things outside that he needs to protect you from.  Once he settles and is more comfortable, he loves to play and chew on bones.  He also enjoys walks and exercise.  He does well in a kennel and on a leash.  He also does well with the resident dogs in his foster home.

McGhee needs a forever home that will be patient with him in regard to house training.  He does go potty outside, but has recently refused to go because of the colder weather. His home needs to be understanding and patient and work with him on a plan to help him be more comfortable going potty outside when it's cold.  Right now he wears a belly band when inside and tolerates it well.  He does not potty in his kennel.

McGhee also needs a home that is understanding of his need to be given time to settle in and show his true self.  He came into rescue very sad, upset and confused.  He has since relaxed and settled and will need a home that is patient and can help him through the transition.
