Jazzy is a 12 y/o bundle of energy.  She is being fostered in Madison, WI.  Jazzy is in a foster home with other dachshunds.   She does well with the other dogs.  She likes to cuddle and play.  Jazzy LOVES squeaky toys! Jazzy's forever home should have another small dog(s) that will play with her.  We have never seen Jazzy around large dogs so do not know how she will react.  Jazzy has a high prey drive so no cats, birds, etc.  Because of her high prey drive, a fenced in yard is required for Jazzy.

Jazzy is working on potty training.  She is doing well if she has a routine.  She is improving all the time (see medical section).  

Jazzy is a little kangaroo.  She will jump on anything. Ramps are important for Jazzy.

The forever home for Jazzy should have someone home more often than not.  This will help with her potty.  Jazzy also has mild separation anxiety and will cry/bark when her people are not home.  Therefore, no apartments or homes with shared walls for Jazzy.

Jazzy will be your shadow.  She loves her people and loves cuddling on their laps.  Jazzy loves to sleep under the covers of the big bed.  A crate for Jazzy will not work.

She is funny and adorable!  She's a very good gorl!  Are you the family for Jazzy?

MEDICAL

Jazzy is up-to-date on immunizations.  She had a dental after coming in to rescue.  She has 5 remaining teeth.  She is heartworm and fecal parasite negative. Jazzy is spay.

Jazzy has Pituitary Dependent Cushing's disease (hyperadrenocorticism).  The good news is that it is currently in remission. She'll still need regular blood work to monitor her cortisol values, but currently she needs no medication.   

Jazzy also has some incontinence.  She is on Incurin (1mg).  This has helped a great deal.  The price is $28 for 30 pills.  She take 1/2 pill every day.
