Pretty Hershey is a 5 yo female weighing in at 12 lbs. She was an owner surrender when her owner had to move to an apartment and worked long hours. If left alone, Hershey is a big barker. So no shared walls!

Hershey will do best in an adult only home as she is not comfortable with new people. Once she is acclimated to her new enviroment and person, she is a love.  She is one of those dachshunds that wants to follow you around and will happily sit outside the shower door waiting for you. She likes to be close to her person. 

She is being fostered with a couple other dachshunds and she is indifferent to them.  So if you are looking for a big player that is not her.  She does like to exlore her yard and is happy to go for a card ride or a walk. She had one accident the 1st day and since then has done all her buisness outside.  Sleeping in the big bed is top on her priority list!

Hershey was a Covid dog and did not get much socialization.  She needs to learn confidence and adjusting to new people.  She does not do well at intial meetings and just wants to be with her person. 

Hershey came into rescue on Keppra, a medication for seizures.  She has not had any seizures in quiet awhile. With a clean diet (currently on A Pup Above), a non stressful enviroment  and using alternatives to heartguard and flea and tck medication we beieve she will be fine.  She may be on Keppra the rest of her life.
