This handsome young lad came from a commerical breeder so he's learning to be a beloved family dog.  Asher is slowly coming out of his shell every day.  When he came into rescue, he didn't want to be touched, preferred to stay in his kennel 24/7 and didn't interact with the other doxies in his foster home.  He now is very curious about the humans and other dogs.  He is starting to play with toys, and, with encouragement, he will come sit on foster mom's lap.  He's a real tailwagger, but just needs help to continue building his confidence and comfort level.

We are looking for a doxie-savvy home for Asher.  Only qualified adopters with prior doxie experience will be considered, with a strong preference for a home with previous puppy mill dog experience.  Asher has never been on a leash, so we are looking for a family with a fenced yard for him.  His forever family *must* also have another young, confident dachshund to help teach him how to be a family dog. Small children make Asher very nervous, so only families with respectful children greater than 8 years old will be considered.  

Asher is neutered and up to date on vaccines.  He has a significant overbite, but it doesn't affect his health.
